What it is
UnboundProse is a manuscript-sharing platform for authors who want structured feedback before they publish. You share work-in-progress with a small circle of invited readers — your spouse, a writing group, a few editors — and collect their reactions and notes against specific lines of text.
It is not a publishing platform. It is not a critique marketplace. It is a private workshop with the lights low and the door closed, built for the part of the writing process that happens after the draft is good enough to share but before it is ready to ship.
How it works
- Bring your draft. Upload chapters as you finish them. Each chapter has its own version history, so you can edit freely without losing the feedback readers have already left.
- Invite a few readers. Send invitations by email, or open the manuscript to anyone who requests access. You decide who gets in.
- Read what they noticed. Readers highlight passages and react — a heart, a question, a flag. They can add a note. You see every reaction on the chapter it belongs to, attributed to who left it.
Who it is for
Writers who already know how to write but want a clearer signal from their first readers. The platform leans editorial rather than social — there are no public reviews, no rating stars, no algorithmic feed. The reader you invite is the reader who gives you feedback.
